Jeffrey Morang
Biography
Jeff is a principal level Human Factors Engineer (HFE) with over 18 years of experience applying usability engineering to design research, usability design & testing and risk management practices in the areas of health care, aerospace and defense systems and product development. Jeff received his MS in Human Factors & Ergonomics from San Jose State University.
Throughout his career, Jeff has been a contributor to enhancing design and fulfilling regulatory requirements for various pre-market and post-market human factors medical devices. Exemplar programs include surgical-assisted robotics, point-of-care & central lab diagnostics, neuromodulation stimulators, diabetes care, instructional design for cognitively impaired patients, non-invasive traumatic brain injury devices, process improvement & risk mitigations for operating theater, sterile processing & intensive care unit, military / combat medical support as well as drug-device combination products. In addition to being an active member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), he has been a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and contributing author to ANSI/AAMI HE75 and the book “Applied Human Factors in Medical Device Design”.
