Biography
Swati Goel is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in Planning Design and Built Environment at Clemson University, focusing on healthcare design and research. She got a bachelor’s in architecture in 2013 at the School of Planning and Architecture in India and received an M.S. in Architectural Design and Research at the University of Michigan in 2018. She believes design should be rooted in evidence-based research and is currently working as a graduate assistant at the Center for Health Facilities Design and Testing (CHFDT). Swati recently received the 2023-2024 Griffin/McKahan/Zilm (GMZ) Fellowship from the Foundation for Health Environments Research (FHER), the 2023-24 Doctoral Dissertation Completion Grant, and an Interdisciplinary Research Fellowship from the Graduate School and the Office of the Vice President for Research at Clemson University to support her studies. Swati is currently researching the impact of the critical care environment on family-centered rounds, staff workflows, and family and staff satisfaction with care.
