Rick Brooks
Biography
Rick has more than 20 years of experience leading teams and product development projects in state-of-the-art technologies, spanning both commercial and defense industries. Rick is adept at decomposing complex problems into simple solution sets. These systems engineering way of thinking also enables him to be very effective at developing robust strategies that connect the ‘vision’ to the ‘tactics'.
A few of his notable successes include developing neurotechnologies for stroke rehab, cybersecurity of medical devices, technical diligence assessments, biological agent detection and identification robotics, point of care hospital equipment, and biomimetic sensors.
Building upon his electrical engineering background, he has served in a wide variety of roles including Division Manager, Engineering Director, Chief Engineer, Program Manager, and more. Rick has 12+ years of experience in medical device development, joining Battelle Medical Device Solutions in 2016, and is currently the Technical Leader of Systems Engineering. He obtained a DOD security clearance in 2007 and a PMP certification in 2009.
