Dr. Changwon Son is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, & Systems Engineering at Texas Tech University, located in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Son received his master’s degree in Safety Engineering and doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. Before coming back to a graduate school, he worked for Hyundai Heavy Industries, the world’s largest shipbuilding and offshore company, as a safety manager. His current research is focused on three areas of safety: public safety, occupational safety, and healthcare safety using the principles of human cognition and behavior. He has been collaborating with Lubbock Fire and Rescue, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and local ISDs.
