Cheo Rose-Washington
Biography
Cheo has 15 years of experience working in startups, as both an operator and a consultant.

He’s passionate about using effective communication to solve problems and drive positive business outcomes.

For Cheo, solving the issue of miscommunication in hand-offs is personal. He's currently recovering from two instances of bilateral patellar tendon ruptures in his knees. The second bilateral rupture was the result of miscommunication about his weight-bearing status between the hospital where he had the first surgery and an inpatient rehab center.

As part of Cheo’s rehab, he met Harvey Brockman, a Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Physical Therapy.

Inspired by Cheo’s experience, they have teamed up to create Hand-off, a company focused on improving hand-offs following orthopedic knee surgeries through clearer communication across healthcare professionals, more transparent rehab protocols, and data analytics to surface best practices.

Most recently, Cheo worked as Editor-in-Chief at PHD Ventures, alongside his mentor and writing partner, Silicon Valley icon and serial entrepreneur Peter Diamandis.

Cheo has a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
