Biography
Joseph R. Keebler, PhD is an applied/experimental Human Factors psychologist with over 18 years of experience. Joe’s work is aimed at solving real-world issues with a specific focus on training, simulation, teamwork, and data analytics within military, medical, aviation/aerospace, and consumer domains. Joe currently serves as an associate professor of Human Factors at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He has partnered with multiple agencies and institutions in his career, with most projects aimed at the implementation of HF/E in complex, high-risk systems, to increase safety and human performance. He has over 170 scientific works including 64 peer-reviewed journal publications. Joe has also been lead editor on two books focusing on application of Human Factors and Ergonomics to Emergency Medicine and another on Aviation and Aerospace. He has been awarded over $4,000,000 USD in grants and contracts as either a PI or Co-PI, including funding from the US Navy, Defense Health Agency, and Blue-Cross Blue-Shield. Finally, Joe serves as a leader in his professional societies, including chairing the International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Healthcare and currently as President of the American Psychological Association Division 21: Applied Experimental Engineering Psychology.
