Rachel Zastrow, RN, DNP, CPPS, LSSBB, is Executive Director of Patient Safety for Advocate Health’s Midwest Region acute care program, overseeing the causal analysis and safety program at 27 hospitals throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. Rachel has been involved in safety and quality since 2008. Her first foray into patient safety occurred when she was invited to participate in, then lead, a process improvement team to eliminate CLABSI, and she has been hooked ever since. She earned an MSN in infection control and environmental safety at Loyola University Chicago and a DNP in health systems administration at Rush University Chicago. She is passionate about advancing evidence-based science in patient safety.
