Biography
Meghan O’Halloran is an internist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Stritch School of Medicine. She is an Associate Program Director for Loyola’s Internal Medicine Residency Program and Site Director for the Chief Resident Quality & Safety Program (CRQS) at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.

Dr. O'Halloran completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at Northwestern University and trained at Loyola for Internal Medicine. She served as Chief Resident for Quality & Patient Safety at Loyola University Medical Center and stayed on at Hines VA Hospital. With the Chief Residents for Quality & Safety, she has led the development of a robust experiential-based core QIPS curriculum for the Internal Medicine residents, enhanced by the creation of an additional Chief Resident for Quality & Safety annual position, resident physician electives, development of a QIPS track, and mentorship of resident physicians.

Dr. O'Halloran has led and participated in collaboratives focused on QIPS in regional and national forums. Her workshops at national meetings focus on sharing curricular innovations, and she was a site lead for an ACGME collaborative for Program Directors' Patient Safety and Quality Educators Network. She serves as a faculty member for the National Center for Patient Safety’s national VA CRQS Program and is the recipient of VA grants for work in VA Quality Improvement initiatives.
