Wendy Newman
Biography
Wendy began her healthcare career at Guthrie 35 years ago as an oxygen clerk for the Respiratory Therapy department of Robert Packer Hospital. After graduating from the RPH/Mansfield University School of Respiratory Therapy in 1992, Wendy practiced as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Guthrie in acute care, long term vent care, and DME/ respiratory therapy homecare. In 2018, Wendy assumed the role of Primary Clinical Instructor for the RPH/Mansfield University School of Respiratory Therapy where she performed classroom lecture and bedside instruction for students, as well as competency training for the Respiratory Therapy staff throughout the Guthrie multi-entity healthcare system. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Business-Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University (WGU), Wendy served in Practice Administration as Director of the Neurology, Neurosurgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Pulmonary divisions of the Guthrie Medical Group. Wendy now holds a Master of Health Leadership/Administration from WGU and continues her passion for clinical excellence, patient safety, and patient experience as a Quality Improvement Specialist on the Guthrie System Quality/Performance Improvement team.
