Biography
Emre Eraslan (emree2@illinois.edu) is a PhD student in the Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he does research in virtual reality applications in Human Extended Reality Interaction Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Avinash Gupta. His research interest mainly centers around developing virtual reality interventions to support cognitive health and engagement and socialization among aging adults. He received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2021, where he worked on human-machine interactions, and conducted experiments with humans to perform various aircraft simulations. He received B.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and physics and a minor degree in German from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2018.
