Biography
Helana Marie Boutros is a PhD student at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Her research focuses on spiritual health as a dimension of health, the Coptic diaspora and intergenerational women’s well-being. She is currently working as a Public Health Researcher at ICES, seconded to the Métis Nation of Ontario, and leads two research projects there namely in relation to Métis health and adequacy of prenatal care for Métis mothers. As well, she works as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Well-Tech Lab, supervised by Dr. Maurita T. Harris, at Wilfred Laurier University where she is currently assisting in the NELVIA-Can research project on older adults. Helana Marie greatly enjoys working on these projects as they not only reflect interdisciplinary approaches to health but also centralize community health in a variety of ways.
