Mikaylah Gross
Biography
Mikaylah Stumbo works as a Principal Human Factors Engineer at Eli Lilly and Company. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics and a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, both from Indiana University in Indianapolis, where she focused on healthcare and accessibility.
Over her 6 years at Lilly, Mikaylah has led the human factors research for combination products across multiple therapeutic areas, including immunology, diabetes, and neuroscience. She has contributed usability expertise to device design, secondary packaging, labeling materials, and software tools used by patients, care partners, and health care professionals. Much of Mikaylah’s recent work has been on recruitment strategies and study design in the neuroscience space to evaluate whether patients with cognitive limitations can safely use medical devices. Beyond her professional work, she’s passionate about educating non-Human Factors employees on the importance of user-centered design through hands-on workshops.
In her free time, Mikaylah continues to be involved with her alma mater and the greater Indianapolis community. She teaches graduate classes at Indiana University in Indianapolis, primarily in the psychology of human-computer interaction. Her involvement extends to serving on the Alumni Advisory Board and sponsoring a collegiate scholarship for students pursuing STEM careers.
