Biography
Tim Disher, PhD, currently serves as an accident investigator for PHMSA where he uses his human factors expertise to aid root cause analysis of major accidents across the US. Prior to PHMSA, Tim worked in the medical industry for 4 years, with his most recent role at YNHH as an embedded human factors engineer investigating safety events and assisting with research initiatives to improve hospital safety. Tim's previous experience also included a focus on human performance in high-stress or extreme environments, with research taking him into surgeries, flight simulators, and an active NASA mission control. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering, a BA in psychology, and both an MS and PhD in Human Factors.
