Biography
Alexander Fidel is a human factors engineer at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia within the Center for Healthcare Quality and Analytics. He is staffed to investigators within the Department of Biomedical Health Informatics, primarily to investigators in its Clinical Informatics Unit on research involving the design of clinical decision support systems. His work addresses needs at every stage in the research cycle and end to end development of user-centered informatics tools: study planning and management, observation and knowledge elicitation, qualitative and quantitative data analysis including task analysis and socio-technical system mapping, requirements gathering, feature prioritization, prototyping, and usability testing.

He has been at CHOP since January 2021 having worked previously for the Center for Clinical Management Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has an MS in information science with a graduate certificate in health informatics from the UM School of Information. His bachelors is from Dartmouth College in comparative literature from 2009.
